Aspen has played host to the Aspen Music Festival and School since 1949.

Today, over sixty years later the Aspen Music Festival and School's eight-week summer festival includes more than 320 events including orchestral concerts, chamber music, opera, contemporary music, master classes, lectures, and kids' programs. Many events are free, and other tickets range up to $80. Lawn seating is always free.

The Jas Aspen Snowmass Festivals in June and over Labor Day always draw big crowds. These festivals are entering there 22nd season and every year they bring stellar headliners. The 10 day June festival takes place in Aspen, primarily at the Benedict music tent. While the 3 day Labor Day festival takes place at Snowmass Town Park, with the spectacular Elk Mountain Range as a backdrop.

The Belly Up Aspen is Aspen's premier live music venue. Since opening in January of 2005 The Belly Up Aspen hosts over 300 live concerts a year and features musical acts such as: Widespread Panic, Jane's Addiction, Thievery Corporation, Ben Harper, B.B. King, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, SEAL, ZZ Top, Chris Isaak, Damian Marley and Nas, Stephen Marley, Lucinda Williams, Snoop Dogg, Tiësto, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Cocker, Wyclef Jean, Ice Cube, Umphrey's McGee and so many more.
